CURRICULUM VITAE
My name is Kateřina Novotná. I was born on February 25, 1973 in Chomutov, Czech Republic.
Education:
1987 - 1991: Secondary Art School of Václav Hollar
in Prague.
1991: I passed my secondary school leaving-examination
in advertising, art history, technology of fine arts and Czech language and
literature.
1991 - 1993: Two-years-long post-leaving-examination
course. The main field of my study: book graphic and illustration.
1993: Academy of Fine Arts in Prague - studio of
Monumental Art (sculpture) under supervision of Professor Aleš Veselý. During
my studies at the Academy I took interest in the field of conservation of historical
art monuments in which I also started to work under professional supervision.
I had the opportunity to participate in conservation of Renaissance graffito
figurative facade of the chateau in Český Krumlov, Gothic wall paintings (frescoes)
in the church of Slavětín, decorative wall painting in the synagogue of Rakovník
& Heřmanův Měštěc, Renaissance frescoes on the church ceiling in Libočany
and Late Gothic painted facade of an ambit in Franciscan monastery in Kadaň...
etc.
Bezalel Academy of Fine Arts & Design in Jerusalem, in the studio of fine
arts at Professor Larry Abramson. During my stay at the Bezalel Academy I worked
with glass and I utilized my experience with this material in my project which
I realized there.
1997 - 1998: Realization of an art project in Bezalel
Academy of Fine Arts & Design in Jerusalem as a guest artist.
1998: Bachelor exam (BgA) in the Academy of Fine
Arts in Prague.
1999: Master degree (MgA) in the Academy of Fine
Arts in Prague - main field sculpture, history of fine art and philosophy. Final
project advisors: Kurt Gebauer and Yvan Theimer [Paris}.
2000 - 2001: Study stay in Paris (6 months).
1999 - 2003: Working experience in restoring Historical
art monuments.
2003: Editor of art, architecture and design. I had
a personal rubric for Metropolitan magazine.
2004 - now: Designer for Galvenn company.

Cooperation with architect Manfred Junger (Austria).
1994: Hotel Hammerhof in Bodenmais, Germany (family
Baumgartener): painting, decoration of elevators.

Wolfl): ceiling painting decoration.
2001: Design and realization of mosaic on the floor

2002: Design and realization of mosaic on the wall
of Hotel Oswald in Germany.
